Description: ‘UF22-11-8’ is a novel new coleus plant, selected for commercial production due to its combination of desirable traits which make it well-suited for use as a colorful annual plant in the summer landscape.
‘UF22-11-8’ will be marketed under the commercial name “Pepper Flakes™”. ‘UF22-11-8’ has consistent foliage color patterning, and also a fast growth rate and vigor in the greenhouse and landscape. ‘UF22-11-8’ has lance-shaped foliage that is predominantly deep red with consistent, randomly arranged chartreuse spots. Vegetative cuttings from ‘UF22-11-8’ form roots quickly and consistently, providing producers with young plants that grow quickly in mass. This allows the plant to have good potential for use in the garden landscape as a specimen or in mass plantings, and also in large mixed containers.
