Strawberry varieties developed at the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station, an agricultural and natural resource research program of the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS), are patented, and a license is required for propagation. Anyone buying strawberry plants should make sure that the seller is a licensed propagator. Any violations should be reported to Florida Foundation Seed Producers, Inc.
